Police in Bahati sub-County have launched investigations into an incident where a man was this morning found beheaded in his home at Ahero Village.
Neighbours say a farmhand forced his way into the compound after the elderly man failed to open the gate only to find a body dumped in a shallow pit and head in a water tank.
“It is believed he was killed last night as his wife says they had talked last evening and expressed no fears over his life,” said a woman who sought anonymity.
The dismembered body was picked by police and taken to Nakuru Municipal Mortuary awaiting postmortem to ascertain the actual cause of death.
Cases of murder are on the rise in Bahati and Subukia sub-counties, all attributed to land conflict and illicit brews among the youth in the agricultural regions
