The government has initiated peace talks among warring communities in Molo and Njoro sub-counties.

This morning, four Cabinet Secretaries are set to mediate a peace meeting between the Kipsigis and Ogiek communities at a Lake  Naivasha Hotel.

The CSs are Dr Fred Matiang’i – Interior, Farida Karoney – Lands, Keriako Tobiko- Environment, and Charles Keter -Energy.

This follows recurring clashes that have claimed at least ten lives, several injuries and property destroyed.

A source privy to the meeting said the communities fronted leaders, armed with memorandums, to represent them at the meeting.

Land experts say the violence in Njoro and Molo sub-counties is directly tied to the Eastern Mau Forest Bloc evictions.
