The announcement by President Uhuru Kenyatta to lift the dusk to dawn curfew has been lauded by stakeholders in the hospitality industry in Nakuru county.

The Head of State made the announcement on Wednesday during this year’s Mashujaa Day national celebrations in Wang’uru stadium in Kirinyaga County.

The curfew has been in place since March 2020 as one way to avert spread of COVID-19.

However,  the lifting of the curfew is a good step towards economy recovery.

Mr.Daniel Ng’ang’a – the owner of Good Valley Bar and restaurant in Nakuru’s CBD says the move was much awaited.

Ng’ang’a revealed that the hospitality industry was greatly hit during this COVID-19 pandemic period.

He was however quick to note the resumption will greatly help rescucitate the economy.

“We were really anticipating this.We want to thank the President that we can now go on with our business” said Ng’ang’a.

They at the same time called on Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui to help boost their businesses within CBD.

According to him, there is need for county government to waiver license fee.
