Former Nacada Boss John Mututho has called on National Assembly to expedite the Narcotics drugs and psychotropic substances Amendment Bill 2020.

He says the passage of the Bill into law will see increased punitive measures to offenders and their collaborators including those entrusted to arrest the vice.

Speaking at Muchorwe, Nyota Ward in Kuresoi North, Mututho said the MPs should fast track the Bill so that the law is in place before December this year.

This says will effectively curd drug menace in forthcoming festivity particularly among youths.

“We can’t continue losing young lives to drugs and illicit brew and that is why we want to call on MPs to expedite the Bill on narcotics and psychotropic substances before December,” he said.

The former Naivasha MP was addressing mourners at Muchorwe during the burial of Johana Kipkirui Koech whose death was linked to drugs and substance abuse.

The late is said to have been sodomized by a section of drunk youths in the area while from a den of illicit brew.

Mututho condemned the incident calling on security team in Nakuru led by County Commissioner Erastus Mbui and Police Commander Tito Kilonzi to take action and end illicit brew in the area.
