Ndoinet Dispensary in Kiptororo Ward shines in quality healthcare services provision

Ndoinet Dispensary in Kiptororo Ward, Kuresoi North sub-County has been feted for provision of quality maternal, child and adolescent healthcare services.

The United States Agency for International Development, through Afya Uzazi, said the facility had improved immunization coverage, antenatal services and skilled deliveries.

While receiving a recognition trophy and certificate, County Minister for Health Dr Gichuki Kariuki said the County commitment in providing quality and affordable primary healthcare services.

The trophy is awarded quarterly on a rotational basis to a health facility that shows improved and best results in terms of maternal and child health services provision.

“The County is in the process of upgrading health infrastructure, a move that will see each sub-County have at least a Level 4 Hospital,” stated Dr Gichuki.

The County has employed 295 healthcare workers across various cadres while 100 doctors were recently promoted and medical insurance enhanced, all aimed at having a productive workforce.

One of the newly employed healthcare workers was posted at Ndoinet Dispensary. Dr Gichuki added that all health facilities have enough of the required drugs depending on the level.

Afya Uzazi Chief of Party Dr Marsden Solomon said the program would continue to work with the County Government of Nakuru in strengthening health capacity and service delivery.

Shock as Deputy Headteacher is murdered in Kuresoi

According to Mkulima location chief John Macharia, the teacher identified as Simon Too was murdered near a maize plantation by a known person in a dispute yet to be established.

Shock and grief hit Baringo valley primary school in Kuresoi North after a man stabbed to death the deputy headteacher while on his way out of school.

According to Mkulima location chief John Macharia, the teacher identified as Simon Too was murdered near a maize plantation by a known person in a dispute yet to be established.
Macharia said that the angry locals descended on the suspect Peter Korir leaving him half dead before police saved him.
“The teacher is not even a drunkard, he even ministers in a local church, so we dont know what triggered this murder”, he said.
A nyumba kumi member Peter Waithaka said that the deceased had called him during the day expressing fear that the suspect had threatened him and was drunk.
The body of the deceased has been taken to Molo subcounty hospital while the suspect has been taken to Kuresoi police station.

Mututho calls on MPs to expedite on Narcotics Bill

Former Nacada Boss John Mututho has called on National Assembly to expedite the Narcotics drugs and psychotropic substances Amendment Bill 2020.

He says the passage of the Bill into law will see increased punitive measures to offenders and their collaborators including those entrusted to arrest the vice.

Speaking at Muchorwe, Nyota Ward in Kuresoi North, Mututho said the MPs should fast track the Bill so that the law is in place before December this year.

This says will effectively curd drug menace in forthcoming festivity particularly among youths.

“We can’t continue losing young lives to drugs and illicit brew and that is why we want to call on MPs to expedite the Bill on narcotics and psychotropic substances before December,” he said.

The former Naivasha MP was addressing mourners at Muchorwe during the burial of Johana Kipkirui Koech whose death was linked to drugs and substance abuse.

The late is said to have been sodomized by a section of drunk youths in the area while from a den of illicit brew.

Mututho condemned the incident calling on security team in Nakuru led by County Commissioner Erastus Mbui and Police Commander Tito Kilonzi to take action and end illicit brew in the area.
