Nakuru Town West MP Samuel Arama has called his constituents who are not yet registered as voters to come out and do so.

He said the second phase of enhanced mass voter registration is key and residents should make good use of it.

Arama who has declared that he will be defending his seat in the August polls, was very categorical that Kenyans have a great role to ensure good leadership.

He was however quick to note that this can only happen through votes hence need for all to register and participate in the August polls.

“I want to urge those who have not registered as voters to ensure the come out during this second phase of enhanced mass voter registration and register. That is the only way you will be able to participate in the August polls” said Arama.

The second phase of enhanced mass voter registration by IEBC kicked off on Monday January 17th and is expected to run upto February 6th.

Arama once again called on locals to join the Azimio la Umoja movement being spearheaded by ODM leader Raila Odinga.

He said that is the only way to ensure a united and peaceful country moving forward.

The Lawmaker called on politicians to stop attacking the office of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) over its efforts in taming graft in the country.

Arama said the war on graft should not be politicised.

The legislator noted that individuals alleged to have been involved in graft should carry their own cross instead of dragging their entire community into their woes.

The vocal MP condemned leaders who have been accusing the DCI of targeting certain individuals in the anti-graft war, adding that Kenya must move forward with or without some political elements.

“If one is found corrupt, it is that individual not the whole community. If I am corrupt, it is me Arama not my entire community. So let us stop politicising the fight on corruption by attacking the DCI,” said Arama.

Arama said he fully supports the fight against corruption which is being spearheaded by President Uhuru Kenyatta, adding that public money meant for development has been looted and should be returned.

The fearless MP was elected for his first term on Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party ticket. He later ditched ODM and joined the Jubilee Party which he contested on and won the 2017 polls.

There are improved projects funded by World Bank making Nakuru Town West constituency shine in Nakuru county, and nationally in extension.

The MP has also been on record telling off those opposed to President Uhuru Kenyatta’s development legacy across the country.

MP Arama’s belief in development record has seen him earn ‘Arama wa Maendeleo’ title among his constituents. According to him, all leaders should stop politicking but rather focus on development.

“The President has been very clear that the focus should not be on politics but rather on development, peace and stability,” said Arama at a past event.

Though having not declared which party he will use to contest the 2022 polls, the MP has always maintained that his development record in Nakuru Town West is clear and that is what will give him the upper hand against his opponents.
