Njoro Member of Parliament, Mrs Charity Kathambi has reiterated her commitment towards improving the education standards in her constituency.
She was speaking earlier today when she launched the National Government – Constituencies Development Fund bursary worth Shs45 million towards secondary schools and tertiary institutions.
She said she will also be lobbying through the national government to have a national tertiary college in Njoro Constituency where students from all over the country can come and start.
“As we launch this tranche of the bursary for the secondary and tertiary institutions I want to assure parents that in Njoro we will work to ensure our children are in schools and get the best,” she said.
The lawmaker told off those who have discriminated against children when it comes to access to education through retrogressive cultures.
She stated that all children are the same and should be given an equal opportunity in matters of education.
“Let me make it clear here in Njoro that all our children are the same and should be the same priority and opportunity,” said Kathambi.
On the recently released Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education results, she commended regional heads and parents for the continued success in schools.
The first time Lawmaker maintained that her legacy is to see transformed society through infrastructure and education and called on locals to shun divisive politics.
“Quality education is an invaluable investment. We endeavour to bequeath to our future generations” she said.
It should be noted that several schools in Njoro have seen infrastructural transformation under the leadership of the current lawmaker.
In January this year, National Director NG-CDF George Ole Meshuko lauded the Njoro Constituency for the model classes set up and the effort put towards the education sector.
He challenged the NG-CDF team in various constituencies to ensure the best utilization of the funds towards transformation.
