Nakuru leaders accuse Narok counterparts of Likia insecurity

This comes after the burial of one person in sigotik, who was  killed by unknown people.

A section of Nakuru leaders has accused their Narok County counterparts of continued attacks in Logoman Forest at the border of the two counties.

The leaders led by Deputy Governor, Dr Eric Korir have also raised alarm over what they termed as insincerity in peace talks.

The leaders said they have held a series of peace meetings but violence erupts moments afterwards.

On her part, Njoro Memmebr of Parliament, Charity Kathambi called on security agencies to stop intimidating locals.

She also demanded locals in the area be issued title deeds to officiate land ownership rights.

Nakuru Deputy Speaker, Samuel Tonui accused Narok leaders, led by Senator Ledama Ole Kina, of inciting locals.

He said Nakuru leaders will not watch as peace is tampered with.

They were speaking at the burial of one of the victims of the clashes at Sigotik area in Njoro sub-County.

Shock and grief hit Baringo valley primary school in Kuresoi North after a man stabbed to death the deputy headteacher while on his way out of school.

According to Mkulima location chief John Macharia, the teacher identified as Simon Too was murdered near a maize plantation by a known person in a dispute yet to be established.
Macharia said that the angry locals descended on the suspect Peter Korir leaving him half dead before police saved him.
“The teacher is not even a drunkard, he even ministers in a local church, so we dont know what triggered this murder”, he said.
A nyumba kumi member Peter Waithaka said that the deceased had called him during the day expressing fear that the suspect had threatened him and was drunk.
The body of the deceased has been taken to Molo subcounty hospital while the suspect has been taken to Kuresoi police station.

Wiper Democratic Movement Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has revealed that the leadership of One Kenya Alliance will be unveiled soon.

Speaking in Nakuru on Wednesday, Kalonzo said by the end of October, the direction of the One Kenya Alliance will be known.

“I am sure that by the end of October we shall have known the leadership and way forward for One Kenya Alliance ahead of the 2022 polls” he said.

The Wiper Leader who met and held consultative meeting with Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui also called on political leaders to maintain peace ahead of the polls.

According to Kalonzo, leaders should shun  politics of division but instead focus on making Kenya a better nation.

“We need to focus on uniting this country.We cannot destroy this beautiful country” said Kalonzo.

On his part Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui noted that Nakuru is at the heart of any national politicians.

He called on those seeking elective positions to ensure peaceful campaigns.

“Our county plays a great role in the economy and politics of the country. We are committed to peaceful elections, tolerance and coexistence. As we approach elections, I urge those seeking positions not to disrupt the lives of Kenyans but conduct their campaigns peacefully.

This 2021 International Day of Peace is a reminder how much we need peace towards the general elections next year, Kabazi MCA Dr.Peter Mbae has said.

In a statement to Newsrooms,Mbae said peace is key before, during and after the 2022 polls.

“As we mark this day,we should be reminded of how peace is key even as we head to 2022 polls” said Mbae.

He added that this is also time that leaders should focus on saving Kenyans from mental illness occassioned by Covid-19 pandemic.

The vocal Nakuru MCA called on the national government to ensure it  avails enough vaccines to the most needy in the villages.

It should be noted that Dr.Mbae who is also an expert in matters peace and reconciliation has sponsored the Nakuru County Peace Bill.

“I have sponsored the Nakuru county Peace Bill as my contribution to peace. I undertake to make and pursue peace in all my areas of influence” he said.
