MP Arama assures constituents of fairness in NG-CDF bursary issuance

The cheques will benefit more than 700 boarding school students. He revealed that the subsequent tranche will be issued in less than two weeks.

Nakuru Town West Member of Parliament, Mr Samuel Arama has assured constituents of fairness in the issuance of the National Government Constituencies Development Fund bursary.

The Legislator stated that fairness is key in ensuring that all needy students benefit in the first tranche of NG-CDF cheques worth Shs7 million.

The cheques will benefit more than 700 boarding school students. He revealed that the subsequent tranche will be issued in less than two weeks.

“Everyone undergoes vetting before approval. Every constituent is free to apply for the bursaries which are given out fairly,” stated the Legislator.

The meeting was also attended by Nakuru Town West Deputy County Commissioner, Mr Michael Lesimam who called on parents to ensure all children are in school.

“Education is key in transforming society. We are living in a very competitive world and only those with requisite knowledge will have an edge over others when it comes to employment,” he stated.

Arama slams DP Ruto over bottom-up model, says not genuine with Kenyans

The Nakuru Town West Legislator has on many occasions defended his development agenda in Nakuru West attributing it to good working relationship between him and President Uhuru Kenyatta and Interior CS Dr.Fred Matiang’i.

Nakuru Town West MP Samuel Arama has told off Deputy President William Ruto over the bottom-up model.

Speaking in Nakuru West, Arama said the Deputy President is not genuine with Kenyans who are going through harsh economic times.

He said it was hypocritical for DP to go around the country purporting that he will transform the lives of Kenyans if elected President.

The second term serving Legislator argued that DP Ruto has been in government and that if he has not been able to transform the lives of Kenyans then he cannot purpot that he will do so in future.

“The Deputy President should be genuine with Kenyans.He has been in government and if he has not delivered, then how can he claim that he will do so in future” said Arama.

The vocal Nakuru Legislator also took issue with MPs allied to Ruto’s UDA party.

He said the Legislators who claim to have ditched Jubilee party for UDA have lost focus on development and are now busy on campaigns moving from one county to another.

Arama challenged them to start focusing on transforming the lives of their constituents first before engaging in 2022 politics.

“There are these group of MPs who every weekend they are with DP.I think it’s high time they start focusing on development in their constituencies instead of moving around aimlessly” he said.

The Nakuru Town West Legislator has on many occasions defended his development agenda in Nakuru West attributing it to good working relationship between him and President Uhuru Kenyatta and Interior CS Dr.Fred Matiang’i.

Nakuru Town West MP Samuel Arama’s development record has been viewed as one of the key tools of retaining his seat with a landslide come next year’s elections.

The MP who served his first term as an ODM Legislator before joining the ruling Jubilee party for the second term has been focusing on transforming the lives of electorates.

It is through his second term and good working relationship with President Uhuru Kenyatta and Interior CS Dr Fred Matiang’i that he lobbied for several projects for his constituents.

Many of his constituents term him a development-focused leader who will go the extra mile to ensure better service delivery in the education sector, infrastructure and security.

On education, many needy but bright students are now in schools through fair distribution of bursary cheques.

The MP has also gained a name for lobbying through the national government for the improvement of the road network in the area.
He also lobbied for the upgrade of the Kaptembwa Police Station to magnificent status.

On many occasions, Arama has always warned his political detractors to brace themselves for a humbling defeat claiming the electorate are satisfied by his track record.

“My development record is clear and my constituents have seen what I have done. Political office is all about helping change lives” he said in a previous interview with this writer.

The Nakuru Town West Legislator has won the hearts of his constituents for lobbying for several projects.

Key among them are roads and drainage World Bank-funded projects in areas such as London and Kaptembwa.

The MP also lobbied for the upgrade of feeder roads in Mwariki to bitumen standards.

The projects have seen Nakuru Town West constituency achieve a new face addressing the challenges of drainage and transport in the slum areas.

Though he is yet to declare which party ticket he will contest on, Arama maintains that the key focus is development record.

A great ally of President Uhuru Kenyatta and his handshake partner Raila Odinga, Arama has also on many occasions drummed support for interior CS Dr Fred Matiang’i to take lead in national politics.

Arama believes that CS Matiang’i can rise to any position including Presidency as he has proven to be a performer having served in several top Ministries in the country.

Joy as PWDs in Nakuru receive digital visual aid items from well-wishers

It was joy on Friday as Person Living with Disability (PWDS) in Nakuru received digital visual aid items from well-wishers.

The automatic visual aid will go a long way in helping the visually impaired persons.

over 35 visual, 4 wheelchairs and hand crutches as well as automatic visual aid sticks.

The project will benefit larger Rift Valley region.

Other counties that have benefited include Baringo, Kisii, Kisumu, Turkana, Kilifi and Marsabit with more counties expected to benefit in the near future.

Addressing media at Shabaab Hall in Nakuru West Subcounty during the handing over of the items, one of the well-wishers Rani Ramchandani said the community has been going through a lot of challenges.

She said she started the charity work with the help of her donors to aid the vulnerable especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to her, she has been identifying the PWDs through a team that does assessment.

She commended the office of the DCI and Kisii County Police Commander Francis Kooli for the continued support.

“We realized many people and more so the PWDs and that is why with my donors and partners we decided to step in” said Rani.

On his part Kisii County Police Boss Francis Kooli who is also a Peace Ambassador called on society to continue embracing the PWDs.

He added that the government is also committed to ensuring that the PWDs’ welfare is taken into consideration.

“We all have a role to ensure the PWDs are well taken care of.The government and other well wishers have continued to commit towards the same” said Kooli.

The beneficiaries of the items commented the well wishers for stepping in with the digital visual aid items.
